Oktoberfest for Charity - Oct. 3

Gutten tag Kickallers!

It’ s early October.  To most of us this means it’s time to retire short sundresses, flip flops, and weekends at the pool. (Ok…and the start of college football).  Depressing isn’t it?  (Except the college football part.)  We feel you, KB-ers.  So in an attempt to help aid you through this difficult time, we’re ringing in October the best way we can……with an all out party devoted to German beer, beer in general, and the drink specials CHASE is known for.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Germany’s biggest party month, let me provide you with a quick history lesson.  Better yet, rent the movie Beerfest.   (All you really need to know is that we’ll be drinking a lot of beer….)

But, because this is CHASE Kickball, and while we do enjoy gratuitous drinking, we also give back.  One of the charities that we proudly support, Kicking For Kids Who Can’t (KFKWC), is having its main even on October 11th.   Kicking For Kids is an amazing organization the benefits children who have suffered limb loss.   KFKWC will be having their annual Kick-A-Thon on the Mall on October 11th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm and you can bet that CHASE will be there in full force.  Until then, on October 3rd, we’ll be supporting KFKWC and your drinking habits by throwing our own CHASE Kickball Oktoberfest.

So what’s in it for you Kickballers?  (Other than helping out a great cause…) For $5, your wristband will get you (1) “Buy One Get One” Ticket, valid for all rails and domestics (minus pitchers), $9 domestic pitchers, and $3 shot specials.  We’ll have full use of the dining room for flip cup and also the patio.

As for what to wear….bring out the lederhosen and the German bar maid attire, obviously.  Or for those of us who don’t have those lying around, we’ve provided some guidelines.**

Dames (or Ladies):  White Blouses with Khaki Skirts or Shorts with White Knee Highs; Peasant Blouses and Skirts.  Accessorize with an apron and flowers in your hair…and you’re set.

Jungen (or Boys): White Button Downs or T-Shirts with Khaki Shorts and Suspenders.  Knee High socks and a felt hat with a feather complete your look.

So now that you know what to wear….let’s go over the details  (in true “Rampant Party Girl” email style….)

Who:  CHASE Kickball/Kicking For Kids Who Can’t
What:  Oktoberfest - CHASE Kickball Style.  $5 get  you a “buy one, get one” ticket, $9 pitcher specials, and $3 shot specials.
When:  Saturday, October 3rd from 9pm-12am
Where:  Union Pub - 201 Massachusetts Ave NE # S1  (www.unionpubdc.com)
Why:  Because we play kickball and we’re down for drinking for a cause…and to help raise funds for Kicking For Kids Who Can’t

So Kickballers, we’ll see you on October 3rd!

PROST!

Larissa
